Historic New Bern is a short drive (or boat ride) away, featuring a beautifully restored
downtown district with restaurants, galleries, and shops. The fabulous beaches of the Crystal Coast, Beaufort's fine waterfront district, and Morehead City's offshore fishing fleet are about an hour's drive (including a ferry ride if you wish!). The Cape Hatteras National Seashore and wonderful Ocracoke Island are about thirty miles by
water across the Pamlico Sound.
